How should academics respond to the death of Michael Brown and the non-indictment of his killer? 


So the real question is how can we use the events of Ferguson, MO as a teachable moment to gain insight into the effects of racial, ethnic, and cultural bias in our perceptions and responses to societal tragedy? These are complex and difficult issues that can only be understood through empathetic dialogue among all of the community stakeholders.
